An Atlas intranet implementation to connect and engage people scattered across different countries, and promote the company culture of innovation and collaboration.
A renowned multinational conglomerate with people scattered across different countries needed an intranet that would:
Responsible for employee engagement and culture, the company’s communications partner sought advice from the IT team who recommended Atlas, ClearPeople’s intranet and digital workplace platform. IT’s main consideration was that, in addition to its innate security, Atlas stores information inside Microsoft 365. This offer further assurances about security because information would not be held externally as it was with their incumbent system.
Another deciding factor was Atlas’ seamless integration with Microsoft 365. The company already did most of its work and collaboration inside Microsoft Teams, using it more than messaging and email.
Atlas works hand-in-hand with Microsoft Teams, adding a layer of user-friendliness and convenience, and bringing all the different digital tools people use into a single hub. Implementing Atlas meant people were able to quickly adapt to their new intranet and continue using tools they were familiar with, while benefiting from an enhanced user experience. Now people can communicate, share files and collaborate in the flow of work without having to switch from one app to another.
With support and training from ClearPeople, the implementation was “super, consistent and quick”. And Atlas has brought another element to their digital workplace: “The product itself is really intuitive … For anyone that’s used SharePoint [Atlas] is fun, just really good fun to use.”
The company now has an intranet platform that meets IT’s exacting security requirements – and makes it easier for people to connect and interact in their preferred digital work environment of Microsoft Teams.
The degree of engagement Atlas has brought about has been a pleasant surprise. “We wouldn’t have had that engagement if [Atlas] wasn’t as easily accessible as it is,” explains their communications partner.
Plans for Atlas include greater personalization and driving more engagement and interactivity through tools like HoverPoint, which makes images clickable and more information rich.
Considering Atlas’ capabilities not just as an intranet but also as a digital workplace platform, the company knows there is still greater benefit to be realized and foresees a future where Atlas is extended to the entire group of 300,000 people, further improving connectivity and information sharing.
The Atlas Digital Workplace includes out-of-the-box communications, collaboration and knowledge capabilities for end-users, management and IT.
Atlas is installed within the customer's Microsoft 365 (Office 365) tenant and Azure infrastructure, leveraging existing Microsoft 365 licenses, security/compliance settings, Active Directory and more.
The platform fully supports Microsoft Teams, Yammer, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Groups, Planner, OneNote, Power Apps, Power BI and much more.
