Developed throughout 2025 in close collaboration with the VDIS team, the platform officially enters its pilot phase in 2026, bringing together Knowledge Management and Digital Transformation more powerfully than ever before.

Challenge

Vallourec is entering a new era of knowledge management. In a context where industrial expertise evolves rapidly and operational performance relies heavily on accurate, accessible, and validated knowledge, the Group is taking a decisive step forward. On one side stands the Knowledge Management Department, whose mission is to ensure that crucial expertise is captured, preserved, and accessible across the organization. On the other stands VDIS, building integrated digital solutions designed to break silos, accelerate collaboration, and amplify the reach of institutional know-how.

By joining forces, both domains have given birth to a new generation of knowledge tools, where Artificial Intelligence plays a central role.

Atlas is far more than a repository. It is designed as a centralized knowledge curation system, where validated information, best practices, and expert insights are systematically captured and maintained.

One of Atlas’s ambitions is to bring impact on the shop floor as well. Operators and frontline teams will gain access to validated practices, troubleshooting guides, and critical insights, directly integrated into daily operations.

This shift turns Vallourec’s collective intelligence into a living operational asset, not confined to documents or individual experts, but embedded into the company’s day to day reality.

As Vallourec continues to strengthen its digital backbone and operational excellence, Atlas stands out as a key milestone - a testament to the company’s commitment to building a smarter, more connected, and future ready organization. 

Future

Atlas will soon be deployed to a pilot group through Microsoft Teams, offering users seamless experience within the tools they already rely on.

A comprehensive training program led by the Knowledge Management team will follow throughout 2026 to ensure successful adoption.
