Microsoft Advanced Specialization: Custom Solutions for Microsoft Teams

21 June 2021

ClearPeople is the first Microsoft partner to globally achieve this new Microsoft Advanced Specialization. This is an incredible achievement that we are all proud of.

What does Microsoft Advanced specialization mean?

As Microsoft Teams continues to rapidly grow, Microsoft has added new partner Advanced Specializations.

A competency measures a partner’s broad technical capability in a Microsoft product or technology. An advanced specialization measures more in-depth capabilities in a specific solution area. These advanced specialisations are open to partners with an active gold Cloud Productivity competency.

Microsoft advanced specializations therefore build on the related Gold competencies that a partner can earn. Earning Gold competencies, along with their related advanced specializations, allows partners to further differentiate their capabilities and offerings to customers.

To obtain an advanced specialisation, partners must meet the following requirements:

  • Attain and maintain Gold status in an aligned gold competency
  • Achieve required performance thresholds
  • Have a minimum number of individuals who pass specific certifications or exams
  • Meet additional requirements that may include, but are not limited to:
    • Verifiable customer references
    • Public case studies
    • Microsoft technology performance indicators
    • Architectural review

By meeting these strict requirements, partners can then validate their deep knowledge, extensive experience and proven success at delivering tailored, customer solutions for areas of high customer demand and relevance.

What does Custom Solutions for Microsoft Teams specialization mean?

The Custom Solutions for Microsoft Teams Advanced Specialization is aimed at recognising partners with proven expertise in the Microsoft Teams platform with the ability to develop and deploy custom apps and solutions with Microsoft Teams.

The company must have Microsoft Teams solutions that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • The app is deployed within Teams and leverages one or more platform extensibility features (which may include connectors, tabs, messaging extensions, task modules, adaptive cards, notifications, and/or bots).
  • A standalone web or device app that uses Microsoft Graph API calls in Teams.
  • A standalone web or device app that embeds Teams components.

Reimagination of the workplace opens a major opportunity for partners to provide solutions that differentiate themselves in the marketplace. Custom solutions for Microsoft Teams will certainly be one of those ways.
