In today’s fast-paced product development world, leveraging the power of artificial intelligence is not just a luxury—it's a necessity. A staggering 66% of product leaders trust AI to summarize and analyze results, yet only a fraction, 15%, fully utilize its capabilities (Pendo.io). In this blog post, I will share how we use Atlas AI Assistant, a tool that's revolutionizing the way we approach product management at ClearPeople.

What makes Atlas AI Assistant standout?

An AI Assistant is a software program that uses artificial intelligence, usually trained with an LLM to understand and respond to queries in a conversational manner. These assistants can perform a wide range of tasks, from answering frequently asked questions, providing summaries, automation of repetitive tasks to handling complex data analysis.

What sets Atlas AI Assistant apart from other AI assistants or chatbots is its deep integration with Microsoft 365. Atlas is tailor-made to suit the unique needs of its users, providing integration with up-to-date and relevant documents stored in SharePoint as well as external information sources such as our company website and blog posts. This customized approach ensures that Atlas AI Assistant can deliver highly relevant, accurate information and insights.

This makes Atlas AI Assistant our best tool for some of our daily tasks. Here are a few examples of how we use it:

1. Market Research

Market research is the backbone of product development. In our SharePoint Document Library, we constantly gather resources from the industry and from analyst reports. Atlas AI Assistant is instrumental here, allowing us to query this repository of information and request concise summaries. Atlas AI Assistant can help us compare our product to those of our competitors and highlight what capabilities are most featured in these reports. This not only saves time but also provides insights that are crucial for strategic planning.

2. Create product documentation and guides

One of the standout features of Atlas AI Assistant is its ability to incorporate information from outside Microsoft 365 into our Knowledge Collection (something that we describe as an authoritative source of truth.) This includes the entire public-facing Knowledge Base for Atlas, making the AI Assistant a veritable encyclopaedia on our product. Sometimes, it knows Atlas better than we do! This feature is a game-changer when creating product documentation, training materials, or marketing content. It ensures that all information is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with our product's capabilities and user needs.

3. Analyze User Feedback

Understanding user feedback is critical for refining and enhancing our product. Atlas AI Assistant goes beyond processing document-based information to analyzing data in various formats, including JSON files. This capability allowed us to export user feedback from an external platform and interrogate it directly through Atlas. I can ask natural language questions like, "What are the most requested features?" or "Which user is the most active?" and even delve into specifics, such as feedback from our CEO or gain insights on particular topics. This level of interaction with user data is invaluable for prioritizing development efforts and aligning our roadmap with user expectations.

In conclusion, Atlas AI Assistant is more than just a tool; it's a partner in our product management process. It empowers us to make informed decisions, streamline our workflow, and stay ahead in a competitive landscape. By integrating AI into our daily tasks, we not only optimize our operations but also enhance the value we deliver to our users.

At ClearPeople, embracing the future of AI in product management is not just about keeping up—it's about leading the way.
