The Cystic Fibrosis Trust has a major ambition to become a “Digital First” organisation. Not only because it is an expectation that a major UK charity becomes increasingly more digital in an online world, but because the Trust’s primary audience – people with cystic fibrosis – can’t physically meet due to the risk of cross-infection.

Project Summary

The Trust's previous website was no longer fit for purpose. The technology which powered it was not sufficiently robust to meet the Trust’s ongoing needs and didn’t have the flexibility to cater for future requirements such as database integration and personalisation. With a tired information architecture, it was difficult for Cystic Fibrosis Trust's key audience groups to navigate the site and find the information most relevant to them meaning they were likely to look for and find the services and information they required elsewhere.

With such a wide and diverse audience, it was important that the Trust developed a solution which maximised the value of each relationship and become a true digital hub of and for the cystic fibrosis community.

Results

The main objectives of the site were to: Inform; Influence; Involve; and create Impact. The initial benefits of the re-vamped website is the integration of donations and events registration with the Trust’s CRM, along with the new responsive design and search functionality.
