As one of the world’s leading interactive entertainment companies, SEGA sought an intranet solution that accurately showcased its culture, brand and values.

Project Summary

SEGA’s previous intranet had been labelled “boring” and “corporate” by employees and was in need of a makeover. It didn’t reflect the fun, relaxed, yet professional image of the company and was seriously lacking in interactivity and personalised content. The goal was to reflect SEGA’s unique culture and spirit through an engaging employee intranet to improve internal communications and unify global employees.

SEGA recognised the need to improve staff engagement through an enhanced communications intranet that would act as a social hub for staff to learn about SEGA’s latest news and events as well as where staff can share their own updates and achievements.

The Results

The new Intranet has provided SEGA with a fun and relaxed portal that enables their team to feel more connected and engaged.

Its modern and engaging design enhances the user experience and is helping SEGA to drive collaboration and boost morale and productivity. SEGA now have a highly engaging intranet that allows their employees to feel part of a social collective, providing them with timely information and greatly improving collaboration across teams.

The new Intranet for SEGA is successfully bringing internal and external engagement together in one place, making it the perfect social hub to engage a diverse workforce.

The Solution

The SEGA intranet includes a range of features to improve staff communication and collaboration:

  • An interactive homepage with carousel that allows staff to see key announcements and campaigns in a visually engaging and stimulating way. All of this is wrapped up in a responsive UI experience meaning teams can access information on a range of devices.
  • A global news module shows a newsfeed of organisation-wide related news, chronologically ordered from the most recently published. It provides high level communication of organisation news in an effective way, while taking pressure off communicating news via email and other less efficient channels.
  • A personalised newsfeed is tailored to a particular audience, either pertaining to their location or business role. It helps distribute the right content to the right people, which will increase efficiency and foster effective communication.
  • The launchpad is an app that allows users to have quick and easy access to a range of tools centralised in one place.
  • The global events module permits users to see a feed of upcoming events at an organisation wide level. What’s more, it’s easy to add a new event with the click of a button.
  • Landing pages enable departments and internal communities to easily set up their own pages to share specific information with relevant parties within the organisation.
