ClearPeople’s work with the charity is to continuously develop the website www.autism.org.uk to meet these objectives and to refine and improve the experience their audiences have with them online.
Our work with the National Autistic Society began in 2008 with the complete relaunch of their website and we have since worked with them on numerous projects from implementing a new responsive design and technology upgrades, to building and supporting their campaign sites. Through our quality assurance programme and managed service, we are constantly evaluating the platform and looking for ways it can be improved.
Our long-term partnership with the National Autistic Society began with the relaunch of their website on the Sitecore platform. Owing to its flexibility and scalability, Sitecore was chosen as the preferred platform for the charity’s new website. It allowed the National Autistic Society to plug in disparate data-driven websites without the need to fully re-engineer them and it is capable of running with one-to-many web front-end servers, in addition to a master staging server.
As well as planning and implementing key technology upgrades of the main website, ClearPeople also work with the National Autistic Society to develop their campaign sites that coincide with their national campaign activity such as Too Much Information (TMI) and Push for Action. The TMI site gives helpful advice through digestible content and video and Push for Action’s success was very dependent on its ability to provide supporters with a local view, developed to encourage supporter sign up across the country by providing local-level information to them.
Working with the National Autistic Society for such a long time means we fully understand their aims and objectives to campaign for a better world for autistic people, and so we can recommend the best ideas and solutions to help them on this journey.
Feedback on the main website relaunch was extremely positive. A questionnaire indicated that 89.5% of visitors found the new website more helpful and would recommend it to other people. The content team report that they are much better equipped to respond to the varied demands of different teams across the organisation.
Our work on upgrading their website’s technology has enabled us to unlock new tools and features for the charity to deliver an even better experience to their website visitors.
Campaign activity often exceeds expectations, with the Push for Action campaign site seeing over 6000 individuals commit their support within the first 6 weeks of the campaign launch.
