We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented and analytical mind to join our growing team as a Finance Assistant.

The Finance Assistant will work closely with our Head of Finance to ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly finance tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and on a timely basis and to agreed deadlines. This is a multi-faceted role, with the opportunity to learn from and support other teams in a growing business, including Operations, HR and Office Management.
 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers
  • Prepare checks, payments and bank deposits
  • Maintain internal control systems
  • Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books
  • Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
  • Transfer data to general ledger
  • Assist in reconciliation and balance all accounts
  • Assist internal and external finance teams in the preparation and processing of payroll 
  • Comply with relevant reporting requirements
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Assist with audits
  • Maintain complete filing system to support financial records    
  • Coordinate with and assist the project office

Additional duties may be assigned, including:

  • Make sure that our facilities & services for staff and clients supports our values 
  • Assist teams across the business
  • Assure smooth running of our London office including meeting and greeting clients, organising refreshments, dealing with travel arrangements, answering occasional phone calls, arranging staff social activities and more

Essential knowledge/skills

  • AAT strongly preferred, or a minimum of 3 years practical experience
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles, as well as relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and anticipate and resolve issues
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High level of computing skills, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based finance systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including employees, customers and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team  
  • Adaptability and flexibility
