How has your first week been so far?
It’s been great! The entire ClearPeople team has been very welcoming. I already have a big shopping list of what people would like to see in terms of IT support so I’ve hit the ground running.
Can you tell me about your role here at ClearPeople?
Of course. I’ll be working with the support team and assisting our Managed Services clients. Our Managed Services team is constantly growing so I’ll be making sure sufficient support is given to our people here in London and Alicante so they can continue to concentrate on the quick deployment of development related issues. I’ll also be helping out with some internal support so we can keep everything running smoothly, inside and out.
What were you doing before ClearPeople?
I was actually working for a company in Brighton that manufactures access control and features for security products. I was on the technical team there and would walk clients through the installation process such as how to build and implement them, as well as providing them with support and knowledge.
How long have you been in IT?
I’ve been in IT and technical related fields for about 10 years now!
What’s your philosophy towards work?
To always keep up with the industry. I always try and make sure that I’m up-to-speed with my knowledge and aware of any new advances in software and technology.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping people out and fixing things for people. It’s always satisfying when you manage to resolve any issues that people present that are either affecting their productivity or causing them a bit of stress or bother. Sometimes the troubleshooting process can be quite rewarding in itself as it enables me to encounter new issues that help expand and improve my knowledge.
If you had all of your clients on speaker phone right now, what one piece of advice would you give them?
Use Gemini! Our Managed Services offerings differ from most for several reasons, Gemini being one of them. Gemini is an easy-to-use system that makes logging issues and tracking their status as easy and intuitive as possible, and creates a more centralised workflow. Our Managed Services team track every logged issue on Gemini through to the point of resolution. You can be confident in knowing that our team is handling your issues and any technical enquiries that you may have.
On another note – funnily enough – if you’re having a simple problem, I would also like to mention the old fashioned route of turning it off and on again! It helps about 75% of problems. Most problems usually occur when something fails to start or load up correctly.
If you could sing one song on X-Factor, what would it be?
I’m a man of many tastes, but I’ll go for a Brit-pop classic: Oasis, Don’t Look Back in Anger.
Who would win in a fight between Spiderman and Batman?
Batman, he’s a much smarter guy and has a lot of money so he can employ a lot of people to help take on Spiderman!
