Meet CP’s new UX Consultant!

Posted 1 December 2016 12:00 AM by Petula Aardenburg, Sales & Marketing Coordinator @ ClearPeople

Olga joins us with a Masters in Iberian & Iberian-American Cultural Studies and a post-grad certificate in web design and development – quite the combination! With a creative and determined nature, and solid experience gained in technology companies and as a freelancer, Olga’s UX flair and penchant for yoga makes her a great asset to the team.

Hi Olga, how are you? Welcome to ClearPeople! How has your first week been here so far?

Very good, thank you. I have been here for almost 4 weeks now and feel like I’m settling in nicely.

You’ve got a very exotic name, where does it come from?

I am Polish but my surname is Portuguese, from my husband.

Can you tell me about your role here?

I started my career by studying post-graduate Web Design and Development, and during my studies I discovered an aptitude for User Experience. Following the course I worked both freelance and for a tech company in Shoreditch. My role at ClearPeople is as a UX Consultant. I will be advocating user experience internally and with clients as an important part of the solutions we deliver.

How long have you been in this industry?

Since 2013, so over 3 years now, with a break for maternity leave. I have a 2-year old daughter, called Hannah.

What do you love most about your job?

Being able to provide clients with solutions that are elegant and well considered. UX requires you to be creative and analytical at the same time, it’s an interesting blend.

If you could offer only one piece of advice to all of your clients, what would it be?

The first thing that comes to my mind is: Create a digital workspace from ClearPeople!

What is your philosophy towards your work?

I don’t like to do things half-heartedly and that also applies to my work. A quote that I follow when I’m not happy with my performance goes “Dude, suckin’ at something is the first step to being sorta good at something.” But this is for emergencies!

If you had only three words to describe yourself, what would it be?

I would says the best words to describe me would be: curious, thoughtful and determined.

If you could sing one song on X Factor, what would it be?

After a long and careful consideration, I think that “I Will Survive” would be my best shot.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

I would be a monkey, because they are social animals. Ideally, I would be a Gibraltar monkey, for the view.

Have you played any team sports before?

I prefer to do yoga!
