SP Reporter (or SharePoint Reporter) is a new Business Productivity tool from ClearPeople.
SP Reporter goes further than the existing reports available with SharePoint, as it allows you to request a report of checked-out items across the whole farm. It will monitor all site collections that you ‘subscribe’ to across one or more farms and web applications.
Individual users can download and install SP Reporter directly on the desktop. SP Reporter is so simple to use: it sits on your desktop in the system tray and you simply access the programme by clicking on the icon.
When you open SP Reporter, you get a nice consolidated overview of all the items that are checked out to you (You can choose what kind of files you want to include in the report, for example just Docx, Doc and Xlsx etc).
Directly from the report you can then:
- Discard the check-out of one or more documents
- Check-in the document
- Open the document
- Go to the document library
SP Reporter Express Edition
The SP Reporter Express Edition is available as a FREE tool for up to 5 Site Collections and will report on the first 50 checked-out documents.

SP Reporter Standard Edition
The SP Reporter is also available in an unlimited standard edition for £16.95 + VAT per user.
SP Reporter Enterprise Edition
An Enterprise level version of SP Reporter will be available imminently, and this will be optimised for performance across larger farms, utilising server side features to consolidate the reports faster and more efficiently.
